We prefer this place compared to the more popular one next to it. Less of a crowd, excellent service staff, orders taken n food served altogether really fast. Small portion for 4 was generous (we ordered 5 dishes and 1 small fried rice). Mud Crab was rm110/kg - rm180/kg. Taste wise tofu gravy needs improving. View is rather pretty.
Been here a few times because we really like the vibe. The food is pretty average but reasonably priced. Service is always a bit slow, probably because we usually come during the busy weekend dinner crowd.
Actually we read a review of Todak which is next door and went there at first. Todak was packed and the worst thing is that you’re expected to find your own tables! There were people who finished but refused to leave. So we decided to walk next door to YX instead and had a great dinner. The place is not as big as Todak but it’s spacious and windy. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food is also very good. Seafood was really fresh. This place deserves a higher rating than it now has! Hidden gem.
Crabs is considered a bit pricey, but the taste and freshness are still worth trying for. Prawns and clam are considered cheap, tasty, and fresh. You should go for the saucy flavour dishes. it seems like the chef is very good at preparing those dishes
We had dinner at Restoran YX for my sister’s birthday and OMG the food was sooo good!! Everything came out fresh, hot, and super flavourful, like seriously, not a single dish disappointed! The crispy fried fish was chef’s kiss golden, juicy, and topped with spicy garlic sauce that hit just right! The sambal prawns were so juicy and full of heat , the sizzling tofu was saucy and comforting , and the omelette was soft and fluffy Even the veggies tasted amazing not plain at all okay, full of flavour and garlic-y goodness! Portions were big, perfect for sharing with family or friends! Everyone left with a happy tummy! Service was super nice too, the staff were friendly, quick, and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time 10/10 service, really made us feel welcome! Would definitely come back again for another feast like this! Highly recommend if you’re looking for yummy Chinese-style seafood dishes at a chill spot! Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Vibes: 100/10 hehe Can’t wait to makan here again! Yummy experience overall! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
